| American Red Cross offers fun in the sun with 2010 Beach Ball | ||||

PLANTATION, FL (July 21, 2010) — Water, sand and cool tropical breezes, are just some of the things you can find at the beach and at the American Red Cross Broward County Chapter’s Beach Ball on October 23. “The Beach Ball is that unique event that ties together a great party and an admirable cause,” said Mark Holmes, American Red Cross Broward County Chapter Board Chair. “Every dollar raised at the Beach Ball supports the disaster response services offered by the Red Cross in Broward County. What a better way to come together for an organization that’s vital to our community and to network with some of the biggest movers and shakers in Broward.” The 2010 Red Cross Beach Ball will be held at 7 p.m., on October 23 at The Westin Beach Resort, Fort Lauderdale, 321 North Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard. This casual night – guests can arrive in festive tropical shirts or floral dresses – is sure to thrill with refreshing cocktails, exciting food stations and dancing on the stunning outdoor Sky Terrace. Exciting items such as Walt Disney World tickets, Sea World tickets and a fishing trip will be included in the silent auction. Tickets cost $200.
“This will be the night you don’t want to miss,” said Cariann Moore, Director of Special Events. “And best of all, you can help us surpass the $160,000 raised last year in flip flops and khakis.” The Red Cross is a charitable organization, not a government agency, and depends on volunteers and the generosity of local citizens to perform its humanitarian mission.
